Rose State Offering Kids College Summer Camps

Rose State College is once again offering its popular Kids College summer camps in June and July and registration is now open. Typically drawing more than 1,500 students to campus every summer, the camps will consist of 112 classes spanning seven weeks.

Everything from aerospace, geoscience and atmospheric science to engineering, coding and 3D printing will be offered as a ‘camp focus,’ with each camp lasting approximately four days.

A sampling of the camps’ daily activities includes ‘Learn to Fly a Drone,’ ‘Gross, Grime and Slime,’ ‘Paint Your Art Out’ and ‘Fun with Alpacas.’ Classes are led by quality educators from the Oklahoma City metro area selected for their skill and expertise in specific subjects. Camp activities are designed to be interactive, creative experiences that foster a stimulating learning environment.

“Kids are going to have a blast at Kids College!” said Rose State College Kids College Director Matt Weinrich. “This series of summer camps makes me wish I was a kid again. Kids College is not only educational, it’s fun too – children will learn new skills while having an adventure at the same time.”

Rose State has taken steps to ensure the camps make life easy for parents as well. The Kids College online registration system guarantees a convenient sign-up process, and before and after-care is available for both the morning and afternoon class sessions.

“Children are often asked what they want to be when they grow up,” explained Rose State President Dr. Jeanie Webb. “And for students who already may know or are ready to explore their ambitions further, Kids College offers the perfect opportunity to discover new passions and grow existing interests at Rose State this summer.”

Rose State encourages students entering first through tenth grade in the upcoming fall semester to enroll in Kids College. Registration opens Wednesday, March 9, and is a la carte by class or for the entire week or summer. Day camps run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Cost is $196 per week.

Limited spots are available. For more information, contact the Kids College staff at (405) 733-7488 or visit www.trainingatrose.com/summeracademies.
